Visual Artist and Secondary Art Teacher
Born in 1990, Marissa Maree is an Australian artist who has completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Photo Media) at the Australian National University, with a six month Exchange Program at the Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. She then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) at the Australian Catholic University, Sydney, specialising in Visual Arts, Photography and Media Arts education.
Working primarily in the fields of painting and photography, she also has a passion for design, drawing and mixed media.
In 2016, Marissa immersed herself in the creation of captivating Fluid Art by blending together various mediums including Ink, Acrylic and Resin. Through attention to colour psychology and theory, she manipulates the materials and process to form unpredictable, unique works of Abstract Art.
She offers everything from her completely customisable range to one-off pieces, in an array of forms and mediums. Her designs resemble that of personal travel encounters and highlight the beauty of colours and meditative patterns, as a vehicle for expression.
Photographically, Marissa explores on a personal level, her experience and relationship with issues of culture, perception, identity and memory in spaces of intriguing flux. She has a passion for capturing her subjects in instantaneous moments of everyday life.
